Noland Road Baptist Church is committed to Transforming Lives through Christ.  We share the love of Jesus Christ with our special needs community, and we invite you to join us as we seek to grow in the Lord!

The Special Connections ministry is one of our newest ministries and is dedicated to showing God's love for teen and young adult individuals with disabilities and their families.  The purpose of this ministry is to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of teens and adults in our local special needs community as well as investing time in their families and showing them a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  Our goal is not for people to define a person by their disability, but rather, to see them as a person with a disability.

The Sunday morning Bible Studies encourage mental, social and spiritual growth through discussion, prayer, stories, worship and skits.  The curriculum is designed to be taught at a level and pace that all can understand, to help class members grow in their knowledge and love of Christ.  Sunday morning Bible Study class is offered at 9:45 AM in room 314, for ages 13-adult.

Special Teen Connections is a monthly social offered for teens with special needs.  This social is held at the NRBC Student Ministries building, The SPOT, located across from the main NRBC campus. (Behind Fuddruckers).  On the second Saturday of each month, volunteers and teens gather for a night of board and video games, sports and karaoke.  This free event is open to all teens and young adults with special needs, ages 13 to 21.  Special Teen Connections is always in need of volunteers.  If you have a heart for those with special needs, you want to build relationships with them, and just want to have fun, please contact the church office for more information.  If you desire to serve, it will be on a rotational basis.

Camp Barnabas is the highlight of the year in the Special Connections class. Each year students spend one week at camp in Purdy, MO making lifelong friendships and growing closer to God. This week is full of one-on-one support, music and crafts, sports activities, bible studies, and making great memories!

For more information on the Special Connections ministry, please contact Francis O’Donnell at the church office, 816-373-0106.
