Equipping
Equipping You For His Work
Jana Waits & Donna Layton

We are about transforming lives through Christ at Noland Road Baptist Church.  Equipping is a big part of that process.

The equipping ministry is led by a team of people who provide an opportunity and process through which individuals can identify their spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality, and life experiences (hence, the acronym S.H.A.P.E.).  Through a Discovery Class, guidance and training are provided in identifying a place of service that fits your individual S.H.A.P.E.  We also provide an opportunity to receive ongoing encouragement, recognition, and celebration of serving God in the area of ministry that provides joy and fulfillment.

The equipping ministry at Noland Road Baptist Church is here to "prepare God's people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up" (Eph 4:12).  The Equipping Ministry Coordinator is Jana Waits. The ministry team is:

Ken Bledsoe - Prayer
Carla Valet and Amy Schoneboom - Discovery Class
Katie Schoneboom - Administration
Barbara Ummel and Doug Hacker - Training
Donna Layton - Consultants & Connectors
Martha Green - Recognition
Doug Hacker- Ministry Description

Noland Road Baptist Church has its arms open to receive you and provide you with great opportunities to serve God with your gifts and abilities.

"But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves."  James 1:22

What did they say about it?

Here are some messages from our members that have been a part of the Discovery Classes:

  • Cindy McCloud:  After being involved in church my entire life, I reached a point of uncertainty with my service to the Lord.  I took the Discovery Class in hopes of gaining new insights to where God wanted me to serve.  The experience was wonderful!  I am now serving as an Ambassador and serving in the Women's Ministry team through Missions.  I have a new peace serving where God wants me to be at this time of my life.
  • Tim Johnson:  This class helped me to discover my place and function within this local expression of the Body of Christ.  Since completing the class, I have begun to plug into several ministries.  Taking this class was the first step in my ongoing journey to becoming an integral member of NRBC.  Begin your journey by taking the class and discovering what God has in store for you.

"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms."  ~1 Peter 4:10

NRBC News
April 14, 2008 -

After many weeks of traffic chaos, the Noland Road bridge has finally re-opened!  There is limited and somewhat congested access to Noland via I-70, but with a little patience, you can now access Noland Road from the interstate.  MODOT will continue to have ramps closed in rotation.  Please take note of signs for further information.  Thank you for your continued loyalty to NRBC even in the midst of the traffic situation.
