What Is AWANA?

AWANA is finished for the 2009-2010 year.
The New Clubs start this fall on September 8, 2010.
About AWANA: The goal of AWANA is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. The word AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. Taken from the Bible in 2 Timothy 2:15, it says, "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth."
AWANA Clubs:
- Cubbies is for children ages 3 and 4. (Must be 3 by July 31st. and potty-trained) This club is built on the idea that young children should receive spiritual training and that home is the primary place for that to occur. Cubbies use games and activities along with Bible scripture memorization, handbooks, music and awards to learn basic truths about God, Jesus Christ, salvation and the Bible.
- Sparks is for children K-2. The program is firmly grounded in scripture and also teaches basic truths about God, Jesus Christ, salvation and the Bible. Sparks Club meetings combine learning with fun to create an atmosphere of irresistible excitement!
- Truth and Training is for 3-6th grade boys and girls. The name Truth and Training reflects the passion of AWANA to teach the truth of God's Word and to train them to follow Christ. These boys and girls study passages from the Old and New Testaments, regularly hear and read the gospel message, and learn to apply truths of the Bible to their own lives.
