In 2005, I attended a training session at Willow Creek and heard about the equipping culture and Sue Mallory’s book, “The Equipping Church.”  Through several messages and workshops, God truly spoke to my heart and showed me this is what I was gifted to do: help communicate the message of equipping to others and provide the resources, organization and structure to support an equipping culture at Noland Road Baptist Church.  Since that day I have been energized and blessed by serving with this staff and in this family of believers.  My heart’s desire is to see every person at NRBC discover his or her spiritual gifts and passions, develop their gifts as they grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and deploy into service for a meaningful, fulfilling and joyful experience.  (Ephesians 2:10, Ephesians 4:11-13, 1 Peter 4:10-11, Proverbs 3:5-6)

I am happily married to Jim, my high school sweetheart.  We have two children.  Our son Jonathan and his wife, Lisa, just gave birth to our first grandson on Sept 30, 2008 - Noah Henry Waits!  They are in the lovely community of Church Road, Virginia where Jonathan is pastor of Central Baptist Church.  Our daughter Jamie, just  moved to Edwards, Colorado where she began her job as a design consultant with Carol Moore Interior Design Firm.  We have two beautiful places to visit our children.
