My goal in ministry has always been to be used by God in a way that pleases Him and to serve God's church with an attitude of service and encouragement in order to help move them toward a growing relationship with Christ and in turn serving others. Ephesians 4:11-12 has been my driving force scripturally where Paul clearly states that God has given the calling of a pastor to be "...equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ." I desire to be obedient to the call of God in my life and to be a faithful follower of Christ, and that mindset drives me each day to do the tasks and duties that are asked of me. At NRBC, I get to wear many different hats and exercise various gifts which keeps me from getting in a rut.
After attending high school in Oklahoma, a friend of mine led me to OBU where I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Pastoral Ministry and minored in General Business. Following my graduation, I moved to the Kansas City area to attend Midwestern Baptist Seminary. MBTS created a special program that allowed graduates from Baptist universities to not have to repeat certain coursework, and that compelled me to come to MBTS. I completed my Masters in Divinity in December of 1991. I was led to NRBC in January of 2006.
My wife, Tonya, and I were Married in October of 1997. We have two children and a German Shepherd.
